Mangia Mangia! Mangia! Early in our two-week stay in Los Angeles, my BIL brought us to one of my bookmarked restaurants, Met Her At A Bar, for breakfast. Not surprisingly, I had both (Met Her At A Bar & Met Him At A Bar) restaurants owned by the husband-wife restaurant duo (Vinny and Mindy Kinnes) on my list after reading fellow Yelp Hawai'i Elite Nadine C's reviews several years ago. My family was so impressed with our Thai-inspired breakfasts by Chef Mindy Kinnes that we were encouraged to try Chef Vinny Kinnes' Italian fare at this restaurant on the opposite corner. I didn't have any problems convincing my BIL and husband to eat at an Italian restaurant since, throughout our stay, we alternated eating at Asian and non-Asian restaurants. Also, I took this opportunity to try a restaurant that neither my BIL nor I had ever tried. I quickly made an early dinner reservation for Saturday through the Resy dining reservation system several days in advance. Since we had an early evening dinner reservation, we had little worries about finding nearby street parking, One of the two friendly hosts greeted us, checked us in, and escorted us to our table by the window. The restaurant bar was already teeming with other early revelers enjoying their cocktails and small plates when our server, Luke, briefly stopped by to inform us he'd be with us after delivering meals to another table. We liked that he showed us some attention even though we had just sat down. Luke returned to our table and introduced himself, giving us a friendly lowdown about this restaurant and its housemade Italian specialties. We started with excellent cocktails (Boulevardier, Old Fashioned, and Martini). We paired them with an authentic Neapolitan pizza alla diavola ($23) featuring its characteristic cornicione (leopard-spotted crust) and spicy fresh, lightly roasted Calabrian chili peppers. Yes, I expected the pizza alla diavola to be fiery, but I could only eat half of the whole pepper and gave the rest to my husband. We also ordered a side order of fries ($10), which my dining mates devoured as I savored my pizza slice. Since I had the tomato and meat flavors on my taste buds, I intended to order the casarecce all'Amatriciana or rigatoni Bolognese. I chose the rigatoni Bolognese ($26) as I was entranced by the "talented" rigatoni pasta shape, which, to me, goes with any sauce. Still, this pasta's shape and ridges grabbed the luscious, rich, and slow-cooked meaty sauce instead of being served with traditional tagliatelle pasta. My husband and our dining mate chose the modern Roman, simple, and hearty spaghetti alla carbonara ($23). Meanwhile, my BIL, who had been craving lobster since we had been talking about getting lobster rolls from either Cousins Maine Lobster Truck during a Valley Night Fair or Saltie Girl, chose the spaghettone all' aragosta or lobster spaghettone ($34). We all agreed the fresh house-made pasta was cooked perfectly, showing its tender-firm al dente chew texture. The sauces were well-balanced and clung onto the pasta without making the pasta mushy or soggy. Our foursome finished our meals by sharing two orders of the house-made lemon-glazed donut ($14). The warm (cake) donut was in a pool of its Summery lemon glaze, and the vanilla ice cream balanced the lemon glaze with its complementary vanilla flavor. If I hadn't been so full from eating an appetizer and pasta, I would've enjoyed eating the dessert more, but sharing it with my husband was good. We'd love to return to this restaurant because of its stellar food flavors and textures, excellent service, welcoming ambiance, and reasonable pricing.

Amazing time with my party of 25. It was a location that has a cool story as to how it was founded. It was near where my partner and I wed earlier in the day. The staff, food and everything to include the process booking/ planning was easy, and of high customer service. Server Luke was Amazing with the three kids in our party! The food beyond met our expectations. Both Luke and the female server that served us were of high caliber and did an amazing job! All the guests raved about the experience. My partner and I dined for brunch about a month before and it also was delicious! I can't recommend Met Him at a Bar Enough! It was perfect! The ambiance inside is so cute! Perfect experience!

Came here for dinner during LA food fest and ordered the prefix. I can say it was a decent amount of food and the main courses were very tasty. The bruschetta was a but blah, but everything else was great! The service is always top notch, everyone is kind and patient. I feel like they expanded the restaurant because it's a lot larger than I remember from two years ago. Will be back for more!

Drink: dirty martnis Pasta: Caio de Pepe & I think it may have been a special, but it was identical to a vodka pasta dish. Overall: 7/10 this place is very cute for date night, birthday dinner or even solo. Everyone is very friendly and has a good vibe. I definitely will be back but I've had better pasta..
